Frustrated Family Member

Apparently no stories have been met with approval. Funny how know one will actually let the truth be known about how the Wyoming State Penitentiary is ran. Wow I thought prisoners were still people and had human rights atleast. Cant even get help from Govoner of Wyoming because he turns it back over to the WDOC.

"My husband is currently institutionalized at Wyoming Correctional Facility in Attica, N.Y. My experience visiting my husband in this facility was so uncomfortable. The whole waiting process of getting inside the facility was disgusting. I arrived at the facility at 6am and didn t get to see my husband until 2pm which left me only 1 hr and 15 min to spend with him to then get back on the road for a 6hr trip back to New York City.

I asked a civilian who works at the hospitality center what was taking so long to be called. He said they go by numbers and available table seating. They have two visiting rooms and neither one gets full where visitors have to wait such an outrageous time outside. They also terminate visits not based on radius but by the time the inmates arrives at the visiting room.

It s very sad to have to travel so many hours going and returning, to only spend 90 minutes with your loved one. I have seen many C.O. s step out of line and treat visitor s like they are prisoners as well. It s heart-breaking to know that they play a big part in discouraging families.Visit s are arranged so that families can bond with their loved one, instead of breaking family ties.

Rules and regulations are understandable but not to be used and abused falsely. Let me not go into what occurs in the package rooms. Packages are always missing! You make a complaint and nothing is ever done. Looks to me like they need to put cameras in all rooms and every corridor to put the definition on a face of a real inmate.Behind those walls everyone including the staff are criminals. Just because you wear a uniform doesn t mean you could take advantage, by beating up inmates to then cover your tracks. I have plenty of stories that I could share. Yet, what is the point if nothing changes and these officers continue to get away with their despicable acts. I only ask that I can enjoy an entire visit with my husband without being harassed by an officer. I don t want to continue to worry for my husband s life because officers want to be aggressive and beat on him for no cause.

I don t know how these current officers have jobs that others who really want to work can do much better. This is how my experience with this facility has been. God willing others don t have to put up with all this harassment any longer."
